Artwork Information

My contribution to the 2017 First-Year MFA Exhibition is titled, “Casual Cruelties.” This installation compiles nine time-based vignettes looped continuously on three video screens. The scenes are played consecutively, but their ordering is unique to each respective screen. Total running time for each compilation is 10 minutes and 49 seconds.

A “stockade” of plywood, screws, wing nuts and two more pole constructions, a triangular piece of flat wood and a black bench for seated viewing will complete the installation. All of the constructions, including the bench, were used in the filming of the videos.
